Language: Behaviour as Communication

An interactive course to highlight the importance of recognising and reading behaviour as an essential aspect of communicating thoughts and feelings that are difficult for pupils with Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) to express and/or understand.

Outcome:

  • To recognise behaviours as acting out fears and frustrations.

  • To identify some of the emotional barriers that SLCN needs can evoke in learners.

  • To provide strategies for supporting and developing learning behaviours.
