Creating an Inclusion-friendly Classroom

This course is ideal for anyone working with children with Special Educational Needs. We will be discussing the SEND Code of Practice, Quality First Teaching (QFT), Buckinghamshire Ordinarily Available Provision (OAP), communication-friendly classrooms, behaviour, and the role of learning support assistants.

Outcome:

  • To develop a clearer understanding of how to support pupils with SEND.

  • To understand expectations of all schools, as outlined in Buckinghamshire Ordinarily Available Provision.

  • To understand the reasonable adjustments that can be made for the pupils in all settings.

  • To develop a clearer understanding of differentiation and how to make curriculum adjustments.

  • To develop a clearer understanding that every behaviour is a form of communication.

  • To improve your resource bank of teaching strategies, classroom resources and online tools across the curriculum.
