Early Years advisory and consultancy service for schools and PVI setting
Our specialist Early Years team provides support for leaders, teachers, and early years practitioners and is thoroughly committed to supporting the raising EYFS standards within schools and settings. We provide flexible and bespoke quality improvement services to help raise early achievement and the quality of all early years registered settings. An agreed programme of in-school support can be planned in consultation with the headteacher or other senior leaders. This may include bespoke consultancy visits, audits of practice and provision, training, mentoring, coaching, and Early Years reviews.
Educational Visits and Learning Outside the Classroom
Buckinghamshire Council has a dedicated Outdoor Advisory Team delivering advice, guidance, and training around Educational Visits and developing Outdoor Learning.

Primary Assessment and Moderation Training
We provide a range of training and joint moderation sessions, enabling primary schools to develop excellent classroom assessment practices, supporting schools in making accurate assessments, and thus supporting improved progress across the curriculum.

BESST School Improvement Conferences and Training
The School Improvement team will be offering a virtual conference for all school staff, leaders and governors, with one conference each term, across academic year 2023/24. Training for school staff will be delivered according to identified strategic need.
BESST will work closely with headteachers to determine the most pressing topics for schools across the county and will tailor the annual programme to best meet these needs.
