Preparing for an Ofsted Inspection – a guide for governors

Preparing for an Ofsted Inspection

Naureen Kausar and Georgina Masefield, Buckinghamshire Council School Improvement Advisers, will use insights from the latest Ofsted framework, our discussions with our local HMI and our experience of Ofsted inspections across Buckinghamshire this academic year to help you to be prepared for an inspection.

A training session for governors to understand their role and responsibilities in planning for and during an Ofsted inspection.  This session will help governors to understand what the inspectors will be looking for, how to identify potential issues in advance, plan effectively and be prepared on the day.

This session is a repeat of the course in the Autumn term.

Outcome:

  • Develop your understanding of the key roles and responsibilities in planning for and during the Ofsted inspection
  • Understand what Ofsted expect from the governing board and individual governors during the inspection
  • Support governors to prepare effectively and identify any issues that need to be addressed prior to the inspection

Speakers

Naureen Kausar, Buckinghamshire Council Primary School Improvement Advisor and Georgina Masefield, Buckinghamshire Council School Improvement Advisor

Who should book on:

  • Chairs and Vice Chairs of Governors – especially those in window for an inspection
  • All primary and secondary governors
  • Governor Clerks
