Are you wondering how best to support your governors in keeping up to date and developing skills in your governing board? You are not alone - It can be easy to feel overwhelmed by information overload! This session will help you to understand how governors can keep up to date and how to make cost effective decisions about governor development.

Experienced Chairs of Governors and representatives of the Bucks Association of School Governors will impartially signpost what help and training is out there, including LA supported training, the NGA and a roundup of freely available resources. This session is aimed at primarily at Development Governors, Chairs and Vice Chairs, and Governance Professionals. It will support you in undertaking board self-evaluation / skills auditing, succession planning, and accessing appropriate resources to upskill your governing board.

Outcome:

  • Know where to find appropriate resources to evaluate skills and performance of your governing board
  • Receive signposting to appropriate training resources for governors
